Guests: Susan Livio, Maria Panaritis, Teresa Franklin and Joel Gelernter

In this hour we’ll take a look at the ongoing debate over proposed state medical marijuana legislation, and the latest research on what marijuana does to our bodies. We’ll get an update on how things are going with medical marijuana in New Jersey with SUSAN LIVIO, a Statehouse Reporter for The Star-Ledger and nj.com, and we’ll talk about Pennsylvania’s pot plans and the marijuana legislation now in Harrisburg with the Philadelphia Inquirer’s regional news writer MARIA PANARITIS. Then, we’ll turn to science. Guest host Mary Cummings-Jordan will sit down with TERESA FRANKLIN, a Research Associate Professor of Neuroscience in Psychiatry at the Center for the Studies of Addiction at the University of Pennsylvania, to discuss new research on marijuana addiction and how the drug impacts young brains. And Yale University School of Medicine professor JOEL GELERNTER will tell us about his new research on marijuana addiction.
