Israeli Writer DAVID GROSSMAN’S To the End of the Land

Israeli writer DAVID GROSSMAN received international attention with his 1987 nonfiction book, “The Yellow Wind,” a personal reportage of interviews of Palestinian residents during the Israeli occupation of the West Bank, which was published a few months before the first Intifada. His new book, “To the End of the Land: A Novel” was written in the mid-2000s as one of his sons finished his service to the Israeli army and as his younger son was just entering the army. The younger son died as Grossman was wrapping up this novel. “To the End of the Land” is structured around a love triangle relationship during 1967 and 2000, as the characters struggle with the horror of war and daily life.
