Within the modern media landscape, the realm of opinion and talk radio shows has largely veered right, in the style of Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity. Meanwhile, popular political satire and comedy has garnered a traditionally liberal audience, with comedians like John Oliver and Stephen Colbert shaping the medium. And while these two modes of political commentary might seem contradictory, our guest Dannagal Goldthwaite Young argues that they are actually providing the same service to their audiences.
