Hour 2

Last month Michelle Obama and Jill Biden announced the initiative “Joining Forces” to focus on the issues facing military families, the people President Obama has referred to as the “force behind the force.”  The program will concentrate on employment, education, and wellness issues, including mental health.  This hour, we’ll look at the challenges of having a family member in the armed services and the kinds of services and support that military families need.  Our guests are JAMES MARTIN, a retired Army colonel and professor in the Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research at Bryn Mawr College; Chaplain Captain ALFEIA DEVAUGHN GOODWIN with the United States Army National Guard; and REBECCA CATAGNUS, a retired Marine and the wife and daughter of Marines.
