Household chores — figuring out who does what and why it’s so hard

Listen

Guests:  Wendy Klein, Andy Hinds, Emily Oster

Let’s be honest….no one likes doing chores, but the good news is much has changed at home when it comes to sharing the responsibilities of raising children and maintaining a home.  Men are doing more and more of the housework yet who does what is still the source of conflict, tension and even resentment between many couples.  In this hour of Radio Times we’ll talk about how couples are divvying up the laundry, cleaning, child care and cooking and why figuring out who does what is so complicated.  We’ll hear from researcher WENDY KLEIN who has studied how couples share housework and blogger and stay-at-home dad ANDY HINDS and economist EMILY OSTER, both of whom have written about their strategies for tackling their family’s chores.
