Educating Delaware

Changes are coming to Delaware schools as the amount of federal dollars given to the state through the Race to the Top program start to wind down. Delaware Secretary of Education Mark Murphy visited First to discuss that, school security, and the cost of college.

Watching Wilmington

We have focused a lot of attention on Wilmington’s crime problem. In the coming weeks, new initiatives and a new report will be out to examine ways to address the problem. So, we though it would be interesting to take a look at a long standing crime prevention program in Wilmington:surveillance cameras.

Clothing for a cause

Two nonprofits in Wilmington are using clothes to make a difference. With statistics showing unemployment for our 9-11 veterans on the rise, one foundation thinks a simple suit is the answer. Also, shopping for a cure, how a resale shop is trying to eradicate breast cancer one purchase at a time.

State of Play

Summer is officially over, so let’s bring back Sate of Play. We’re joined by Stephanie Hansen of the law firm Conaway, Stargatt and Taylor, and a new face for this segment, Tom Ross, former head of the Delaware Republican Party. This week, we discuss Charlie Copeland’s farewell from State of Play, and perhaps more importantly, can he make a difference for Delaware Republicans?
