ILC Dover

For decades every accomplishment made in the US space program included a contribution from ILC Dover. When the space shuttle program ended, some wondered if that would end the connection with ILC and outer space. While ILC does have a long list of space accomplishments, they are prepared for the next step.

Delaware’s Civil War

While there were no Civil War battles in the First State, Delaware did play a role during, and especially after, the Battle of Gettysburg. WHYY’s Mark Eichmann heads to Fort Delaware, which hosted thousands of Confederate prisoners following Gettysburg 150 years ago.

First Experience: Yo-Yo Joe’s

Do you remember Mitchell’s Trains, Toys and Hobbies in Wilmington? The old Mitchell’s store is gone, but the next generation of Mitchell’s is continuing the family business, sort of. We head to Yo-Yo Joe’s for our First Experience this week.

Recent studies reveal that more and more African American women are doing away with hair chemicals and opting for a more natural appearance. We examine whether this a political trend or a more concious type of style here to stay.

2013 Firefly Music Festival

Anyone stuck in a traffic jam on Delaware Rt. 1 southbound last Friday was a part of the success of the 2013 Firefly Music Festival. Attendance was triple what it was in 2012. The promoters liked the Dover Speedway facility so well that they’ve signed up to bring the festival there for the next 10 years.
