Investigative reporter Jeremy Scahill on Dirty Wars

Listen

GUEST: JEREMY SCAHILL

Much of the Obama Administration’s national security policy relies on the work of  the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) and the CIA’s Special Activities Division. According to our guest JEREMY SCAHILL, National Security Correspondent for The Nation, the White House is directing secret commandos to carry out a covert war against terror suspects using kill lists, missile and drone strikes and night raids. Scahill says these tactics being used in Afghanistan, Yemen and Somalia are turning civilians against the U.S. The author of the George Polk Award-winning 2008 book, “Blackwater: The Rise of the World’s Most Powerful Mercenary Army,” Scahill’s latest book is “Dirty Wars: The World is a Battlefield,” which is also a IFC/Sundance Selects film, “Dirty Wars,” which will be released in June.
