Cybersecurity and the growing threats
ListenGuests: SIOBHAN GORMAN, ALAN PALLER and JAMES LEWIS
On Tuesday, President Obama signed an Executive Order to protect the country’s critical infrastructure from cyber attacks. As he announced Tuesday night in his State of the Union address, the cyber order enables government and industry to share information on cyber threats and to develop best practices for safeguarding computer networks. Cyber attacks have been increasing in recent years with hackers breaching computers and websites of newspapers, banks and even pipelines. This hour, Marty talks about Obama’s new cyber protection policy and about the growing threat of cyber attacks and cyberwarfare. Our guests are SIOBHAN GORMAN, national security and intelligence correspondent for The Wall Street Journal; ALAN PALLER, a cybersecurity expert and the founder of SANS, a cybersecurity training school; and JAMES LEWIS, senior fellow and director of the Technology and Public Policy Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
