Guest: Chris Schwartz

Philadelphia native CHRIS SCHWARTZ had all the ingredients to become successful in the music industry; an eye for talent, an ear for music, and a head for business. His record label, Ruffhouse records, was instrumental in the rise of some of the biggest names in 90s Hip Hop – the original gangster rap legend Schoolly D, child prodigy duo Kriss Kross, and the legendary band The Fugees, featuring Lauryn Hill. Schwartz joins us on the show today to talk about his tumultuous upbringing in Philly, falling in love with music, getting involved in the hip hop world, and being on top in the entertainment industry. And, we’ll listen to some of the best music of the Ruffhouse records discography. His new book is called Ruff House: From the Streets of Philly to the Top of the 90s Hip Hop Charts.
