Recently, a hawk took perch just outside our station. While it brought us the gift of a rare visitor and the accompanying awe, it also made our staff reflect on the present and future of WHYY. As it scanned the horizon with sharp focus and steady presence, we couldn’t help but see ourselves in its gaze.

The hawk can represent many things: resilience, watchfulness and a desire to take to the skies. We believe these qualities are important as WHYY moves into the future and our objective continues to be growing and serving our community.

WHYY reports on stories that matter, from local issues to global events, always with clarity and purpose. We soar above the noise to bring perspective. We stay grounded in truth, yet remain ready to respond, adapt, and protect what’s essential.

But we can’t do it without you, our members.

This hawk reminded us that strength comes from being both independent media and supported by the community. While our mission is to serve you, our ability to keep you informed relies on your generosity. Public media is powered by listeners, viewers, and readers who believe in the value of a well-informed public.

Your donation helps us stay sharp. It ensures that we can keep an eye on the horizon, reporting with accuracy, depth, and integrity. It keeps this trusted source of news, storytelling, and culture strong for future generations in the Greater Delaware Valley and beyond.

Just like the hawk, WHYY is ready to continue soaring and be a symbol of strength for all. But to take to the sky, we need your support, your membership is the wind beneath our wings.
