Youth fife-and-drum corps from Michigan performs at Historic RittenhouseTown [video]

As part of a five-stop tour of the area this week, the Plymouth Fife & Drum Corps from Michigan performed at Historic RittenhouseTown in Northwest Philadelphia on Wednesday.

The youth corps is comprised of students between the ages of 11 and 18 “dedicated to preserving the ancient art of fifing and drumming.”

The group, which last visited the Philadelphia area in 2005, practices weekly and performs 40 to 50 shows which take over each weekend of their summer vacation.

“We’ve been preparing for our return to Philadelphia since October,” said Lisa LiGreci of PFDC.
