Police are investigating the stabbing death of a woman in the Germantown section of the city.

Police say they received a radio call shortly after 9 p.m. reporting a person screaming inside a second floor apartment on the 5500 block of Wayne Avenue.

When police arrived, they found the bloody body of a 69-year-old woman .

“Her body was partly in the kitchen, the other half of her body was in the hallway,” said Philadelphia Chief Inspector Scott Small. “She obviously had multiple stab wounds to her neck and upper chest. There was actually a knife still lodged in her chest.”
