Woman fatally stabbed in West Oak Lane early Friday

There were no signs of police activity on the stretch of Ogontz Avenue nestled between the Ogontz Plaza and the Rock Church of God around 9:30 a.m. Friday, but just hours earlier, a 29-year-old woman was stabbed to death in her West Oak Lane home.

Police responded to the stabbing at 1:30 a.m. after a woman stabbed another woman in the neck on the 7200 block of Ogontz Ave. The victim was rushed to Albert Einstein Medical Center where she was pronounced dead less than a half hour later.

The alleged suspect fled after the stabbing, but was arrested shortly thereafter. The suspect and victim’s names have not been released and an investigation continues.

The curtains were drawn, door closed and no visible activity at the home located across Ogontz Avenue from a senior center, funeral parlor, barbershop and florist.
