Wilmington police investigate Wednesday night fatal shooting

Wilmington police are investigating a shooting that left a 39-year-old man dead Wednesday night. 

Around 8:49 p.m. officers responded to Cedar and Marshall Streets in Wilmington after receiving reports of an injured person, possibly suffering from a gunshot wound, according to the Wilmington Police Department.

Officers say they found the man suffering from a gunshot wound to the head on the 900 block of Marshall Street. He was treated on the scene and transported to Christiana Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Wilmington police say the investigation is ongoing, and asks anyone with information to contact Detective Justin Kreysa at 302-576-3620.
