Wilmington offers discount on parking tickets

Wilmington leaders are hoping the new discount plan provides an incentive for residents to pay their fines quickly rather than procrastinating.

Starting July 2nd, drivers who get parking tickets can have their fines reduced by $10 if they pay within 48 hours.  Wilmington Mayor James Baker says the discount can help ease the pain of getting a fine, while at the same time expediting the way the city gets paid.  “The city benefits through improved compliance, which eliminates the costs and effort associated with collecting fees associated with parking violations.”

To get the discount, drivers must pay in person at the Revenue Department windows on the first floor of the Redding City/County Building on N. French Street on regular business days or online at WilmingtonParkingTickets.com.  If you appeal your ticket, you forfeit your discount.
