Why we love the shore [photos]

The summer of 2013 is special for those who love the Jersey Shore. When Hurricane Sandy mixed with another cold front and hide tide on October 29, the results were heartbreaking for the communities hardest hit. One of those towns was Seaside Heights, New Jersey. It was here that the JetStar Roller Coaster splashed into the ocean, when the pier it was sitting on partially collapsed.

Cooler temperatures and rain the first two days of the Memorial Day Weekend put a damper on anyone about to shout “Jersey Strong.” But sunshine last Sunday and Monday gave us the first taste of what we hope will be one of the best and memorable summers ever at the Jersey Shore.
