New local biking guide highlights trails in NW Philly
Julie Lorch, cycling enthusiast and author of “Where to Bike Philadelphia” is a Philadelphia resident and has been for most of her life.
Her new book, Where to Bike Philadelphia is part of a series of “Where to Bike” guide books which cover many other cities across the country including Portland, New York and Los Angeles, as well as other cities in the UK, Australia and New Zealand.
The book features 50 adult rides and 21 rides for kids throughout the city and its surrounding suburbs. The Wissahickon Trail and Kelly Drive in Northwest Philadelphia are among those suggested paths.
Lorch is a graduate student from Penn Engineering with a degree in Integrated Product Design. Aside from writing for the “Where to Bike” series, she also writes for Grid Magazine, a local magazine with a mission to inspire the people of Philadelphia to create a more just, liveable and sustainable city.
