Want to check your kid’s homework assignments? There’s an app for that in Delaware

A mobile app unveiled Thursday lets kids and parents check on a student’s daily calendar, grades, homework assignments, and more.
The eSchool PLUS Family app, made by SunGard K-12, is available for free from the Apple App Store, GooglePlay, and Amazon. It is compatible with the Home Access Center system and will work only for families affiliated with schools that have enabled Home Access Center, according to a Delaware Department of Education press release.
“This is another tool to make it easier for schools to communicate and share information with those at home and for families to access the information they need to support students’ learning at home,” Delaware Secretary of Education Steven Godowsky said in a statement.
The app’s features include reminders about upcoming school events such as PTA meetings, information about pending homework assignments, and an up-to-date accounting of a student’s grades.
Delaware families have already been able to access this information on their computers through Home Access Center. The product introduced Thursday simply compiles all of that info into a mobile application.
The department also announced it will release a similar app for teachers and administrators in the coming weeks.
