Volunteer opportunities available at beaches and natural areas

If you are interested in volunteer opportunities while enjoying the great outdoors, the Delaware Division of Fish and Wildlife may have what you’re looking for.

Wildlife areas are in need of such services as painting, cleanups, invasive plant removal, wildlife surveys, habitat restoration and landscaping.  Also, the Natural Heritage and Endangered Species Program is recruiting volunteers for a number of activities this spring, summer and fall.  These may include monitoring migratory shorebirds, protecting piping plover nests in beach areas, and monitoring osprey nets.

If you are interested in learning more or lending a hand, contact Lynne Staub at DFW, 302-735-3600.
