Video shows assault suspects in Center City hate crime

Philadelphia police released a video asking the public to help identify suspects in an assault on a gay couple in Center City Thursday night.

The 15 suspects were described as white, in their early 20s, clean cut and well dressed.

According to police, members of the group made disparaging remarks about the couple’s sexual orientation, and then attacked them near the corner of 16th and Chancellor streets. The group fled when police approached, taking one victim’s bag with them.

Both victims were taken to the hospital, one with a broken facial bone.
