Police ID one of two suspects in Manayunk robbery
Police have identified one of the suspects in this week’s armed robbery on Main Street and are seeking the public’s help to identify the other.
The two are sought for stealing approximately $100,000 in jewelry from A.I. Poland Jewelers in Manayunk late Tuesday morning after striking the shop’s owner on the head several times with a handgun and tying him up in the back of the store with another female employee.
One suspect has been identified as Raheem Hankerson, 30, of 5812 Lambert Street in Philadelphia. Hankerson’s wallet, containing his personal information, was found inside the vehicle police say was used by the suspects after the robbery.
Within minutes of the heist, witnesses told police they saw a vehicle traveling at a high speed. Police say the driver and passenger were then spotted exiting the vehicle, moving items from the back of the vehicle to the trunk and running through a nearby alley.
The jewelry, the owner’s stolen handgun and Hankerson’s wallet were all recovered by police in the car parked on the 200 block of Kalos Street in Roxborough.
Police are asking for the public’s help in locating Raheem Hankerson and identifying the other male seen in the surveillance video.
