Video: N.J. native Carli Lloyd visits campers at JCC Camps in Medford

Campers at the JCC Camps in Medford, N.J. received a visit from 2008 Olympic Gold medalist and U.S. Women’s Soccer Team member, Delran N.J. native Carli Lloyd Monday.

Llyod, who is part of the squad headed to London this month to compete in the 2012 Olympics, took a break from training up the street from the JCC camp to speak to kids about hard work and staying focused on the goals they set for themselves.

Ten-year-old soccer player Paige Schell and her friends shouted “Carli, Carli, Carli,” as the star entered the theater.

“Everybody knows she’s just like us, she followed her dreams and that’s what got her here,” Schell said.

“I think once I get over there I’m going to start getting really nervous, excited,” said Lloyd, who is keeping calm for now and trying to block out the hype and attention. “That’s what we’re trained to do. At the end of the day if we don’t perform and if we don’t perform well, we’re not doing our jobs.”
