Troopers corral horse after another struck, killed on Atlantic City Expressway
A horse was struck and killed early this morning on the Atlantic City Expressway, authorities said.
New Jersey State Troopers responded to a single-car crash involving a horse shortly after 3 a.m. in Winslow Township, a release from the agency said.
The motorist, who sustained minor injuries, struck and killed a horse near the right shoulder, police said. But a second loose horse was safely captured.
“Fortunately, responding troopers were (able) to corral a second horse that was not injured,” the release said.
Police located and notified the owner after a brief investigation and say that it’s still unknown how the horses got onto the highway.
An investigation is ongoing.
