Here’s a look at what’s to come:

1. Imhotep Institute Charter High School has the chance today to make history when they take on South Fayette in the PIAA state football championship game. If the Panthers win, they’ll become the first-ever public school from Philadelphia to win a state championship on the gridiron. Imhotep would also be the only school in Pennsylvania to win state titles in basketball and football in the same calendar year. Check back next week for more details.

2. Mt. Airy’s Business Improvement District has hired a new executive director. Angie Williamson with New Kensington CDC will soon be in charge of keeping a stretch of Germantown Avenue in good shape. Check back next week to learn more.

3. It’s that time of year again. Starting Monday, we’ll bring you the best photos of the year from Northwest Philadelphia — 10 images at a time. Check back throughout the week. We’ll reveal the number one photo on Friday.
