Thousands expected at Eagles stadium for Autism Awareness Month event

All of the 5,000 complimentary tickets reserved for today’s Huddle Up for Autism Event have been snatched up, making for a packed Lincoln Financial Field.

The second annual event put on by the Philadelphia Eagles and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is designed to educate, fundraise and create awareness for CHOP’s Center for Autism Research.

Rain or shine, families will join Eagles alumni and cheerleaders and SWOOP for tours of the locker room, crafts, face painting, an obstacle course and a moonbounce. Meanwhile, parents can peruse the resource tables set up by CAR. Concession stands will include gluten- and casein-free food to accommodate those on the autism spectrum, as will quiet rooms for those who need a break from the excitement.
