    The Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania hosted its 27th annual Take the Lead awards ceremony March 5 at the Hyatt at the Bellevue. In a program led by Girl Scouts ages 5 to 18, awards were presented to Independence Blue Cross Foundation President Lorina Marshall-Blake, PECO’s manager of corporate relations Romona Riscoe Benson, and Joan Carter, president of UM Holdings, Ltd.

    During the event guests bid on such auction items as a night with the Phillies, which includes a baseball signed by Cole Hamels, and a trip to Cabo San Lucas. Guests also donated the money needed to send more than 70 girls this summer to Girl Scout camps.

    The event for 600 was co-chaired by Tierney President and CEO Mary Stengel Austen and Denis O’Brien, senior executive vice president of Exelon Corporation.
