The 2012 Weavers Way renovation: Before and after photos

During the summer of 2012, Weavers Way renovated its main Mt. Airy food co-op store at 559 Carpenter Lane in the Mt. Airy section of Northwest Philadelphia. The $500,000 project overhauled the interior of the store and expanded its selling space across the street for its pet and wellness products.

Weavers Way has been operating from the Carpenter Lane and Greene Street location since January 13, 1973. Although when it opened here it was operating out of the 555 Carpenter Lane, which is now its administrative office.

The store re-opened this month and it still looks like Weavers Way but now with a 21st Century feel. NewsWorks photographer Bas Slabbers has been documenting the renovation project and has put together this before-and-after slideshow.
