Teen brothers charged in Delaware shooting

Police have arrested two teenage brothers on charges they took part in the shooting of a young woman who was found wounded in a shopping center parking lot.

New Castle County Police detectives say shortly after 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, a 19-year-old Newark woman was shot several times in the head and chest at the Apple Chase Apartments near Route 40 in Bear.  She is listed in guarded condition at Christiana Hospital.

Police say she made her way in a black SUV to the parking lot of the Sunset Station shopping center after being shot.  Officers then began looking for two suspects who had been seen in a green Mitsubishi Eclipse.

Investigators linked 18-year-old Shawn Kadel and his 15-year-old brother Justin Kadel to the shooting.  Police believe one of the brothers shot the woman as the other was engaged in a physical confrontation with her.
