Sussex Outdoors Summit aims to draw kids and families outdoors

Youngsters, parents and individuals are encouraged to enjoy southern Delaware’s great outdoors today.

It’s a free admission day at Trap Pond State Park, where the Sussex Outdoors Summit will begin at 1 p.m.  Nemours Health and Prevention Services as well as numerous other health-and-fitness advocates and organizations will discuss their goal of encouraging outdoor activity.  Governor Markell will also attend and announce a Delaware blueprint for trails, an “interconnected network of paths and trails that support non-motorized travel and recreation opportunities throughout the state.”  Sussex County government and Delaware State Parks are among the sponsors.  Free hayrides and pontoon boat tours are also available.  For more information call 1-302-875-5163.
