Sussex County gets the worst from season’s first winter storm

Sussex County was hardest hit among Delaware’s three counties in the first winter storm of the season.

Some areas received 11 inches of snow.  State government agencies and many local government offices were closed Monday.  A Limited State of Emergency remained in effect, discouraging drivers from taking to the roadways for non-essential purposes.  Gusty winds Monday are continuing to cause problems.

Citizens and travelers with questions or concerns may contact the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center Storm Hotline at 302-856-7366.
