Sussex County Council to consider automatic extensions for developers

Developers in Sussex County could be granted extensions if the tough economy causes their projects to stall.

Members of Sussex County Council are meeting today to discuss a measure  that would grant automatic extensions to keep pending projects alive.  Council member Vance Phillips says residential and commercial projects in the pipeline could qualify for a two-year extension under his proposal.  County Planning and Zoning Director Lawrence Lank told The News Journal this week it is unclear exactly how many projects may be affected, and that some properties have been flipped or sold to other developers.  Sussex County Council meets Tuesday at 10:00 a.m.
