Suspected Delaware burglar caught napping on the job

As suspected burglars go, they don’t seem to get much more laid back than 29-year-old Bradley Furchak.

The Millsboro resident was arrested Tuesday after allegedly breaking into the home of a 63-year-old Long Neck woman. According to Delaware State Police, Furchak was discovered by the victim just after 7 in the morning asleep on her couch, after apparently helping himself to more than one cold beverage.

After fleeing the residence, the suspect was last seen running with a beer can still in his hand. The victim additionally discovered that Furchak had consumed more then just one beer while staying at her residence.

Upon surveying the burglary scene, State Troopers discovered Furchak had cut a screen to the victim’s porch in order to gain access.

When Troopers left the burglary scene they canvassed the neighborhood and observed a man walking along School Lane fitting the description the victim provided. Authorities say Furchak, after observing the State Trooper, continued to walk a few more steps still consuming his alcoholic beverage.

Police searched Furchak and seized 6 prescription pills, containing 650 mg of Ibuprofen with Codeine.  The pills were not prescribed to Furchak.
