String of burglaries in Delaware neighborhoods

A series of burglaries has nine New Castle County communities on edge, as police continue to search for potential suspects.

Detectives say burglars have forced their way inside homes in Sylan Park, Brandywine Hunt, Norwegian Woods, Oak Lane Manor, Weldin Ridge, Stenning Woods, Hockessin Chase, Bella Vista and Westover Woods within the past month, stealing largely jewelry and money.

With the help of area residents calling in suspicious persons and cars, county police says several similar cases have been solved. Now police are asking homeowners in the above communities to contact them if they have any video surveillance that could help in this latest rash of burglaries.
