State studies passenger rail service to Sussex

DelDOT begins study of rail service in southern Delaware.

The Department of Transportation is exploring the possibility of offering one or two trips per day from Dover to as far south as Berlin, Maryland.  The route would include stops at the coastal resort area.  Delaware and Maryland will contribute $900,000 to the Delmarva Intercity Rail Study.  The passenger trains would use freight rail tracks that are currently underused.
