South Jersey’s New Golden Dawn Diner burns, closes
One of southern New Jersey’s landmark diners has burned in a fire and closed.
The New Golden Dawn, where Routes 38 and 73 meet in Maple Shade, caught fire around 11:15 Sunday, just after closing time.
The Philadelphia Inquirer reports the fire took two hours to get under control and much of the building’s interior was destroyed.
The owners posted on Facebook that “it is with heavy hearts” that the diner is closing for now.
They said they hope to be open soon.
