Atlantic City’s Steel Pier sold for $4.25 million

Atlantic City’s iconic Steel Pier has been sold for $4.25 million.

The Press of Atlantic City reports Trump Entertainment sold the 113-year-old amusement complex to the Catanoso family, which has leased the pier since 1993. The agreement was announced yesterday.

The family will operate the site as Steel Pier Associates LLC. The sale includes the 1,000-foot pier, its buildings and rights to the Steel Pier name.

The Steel Pier has been rebuilt since it was home to a diving horse attraction and the original Miss America Pageant in the early 20th century.
