Solaris Grille in Chestnut Hill closes

Solaris Grille has closed its doors for good. Owner John Anderson delivered the news via Twitter from his Blackberry on Friday. “After 15 years I can no longer keep Solaris open. Last night was our last night. Time for a new adventure,” wrote Anderson.

In many ways Solaris Grille’s closing isn’t a surprise because its parent company J & J Restaurant Associates has been operating in Chapter 11 (restructuring) bankruptcy. This past summer Tequila Joe’s Burrito Bar on Skippack Pike in Center Square closed its doors.

Still open is Tequila Joe’s in Oreland.

J & J Restaurant Associates’ attorney Brian J. Smith said that he’ll find out next week if J&J can stay in Chapter 11 (restructuring) or if the company will be forced into Chapter 7 (liquidation) bankruptcy.
