Silver Alert issued for Barnegat man suffering from Alzheimer’s disease

    Police have issued a Silver Alert for a missing Barnegat man.

    Werner Dirr, 77, of East Bay Avenue suffers from the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease, police said.

    Dirr, last seen when he left his residence at noon today, was operating a green 2004 Kia Sedona with New Jersey license plates “YLJ63T,” police said.

    He was last seen wearing a green plaid jacket, blue plaid shirt, khaki pants, brown leather shoes, a gray baseball cap, and glasses, police said.
