Sen. Carper highlights healthy, hunger-free kids effort

Senator Tom Carper (D) will be at Woodbridge Elementary School this afternoon to visit students during lunch and snack time to see how the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act is impacting nutrition at school.

The Act, signed by President Obama late last year, reauthorizes child nutrition programs run by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Woodbridge is the largest elementary school in Delaware, and has a very high percentage of students eligible for free lunch programs.
