Second case of man fatally shot inside car in Northwest Philly reported early Wednesday

For the second time in less than 24 hours, a man was found shot dead in a parked car in Northwest Philadelphia early Wednesday morning.

In the latest case, the unidentified victim was found fatally shot in the rear driver-side seat of a white Mercury Sable on the 6900 block of N. 15th St. just after 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.

A police spokeswoman said he had suffered multiple gunshots to the head and chest and was pronounced dead at the West Oak Lane scene at 12:55 a.m. No information about suspects or motive was available as of 9 a.m.

The fatal shooting came 23 hours after a 28-year-old man was found shot to death inside a black Nissan Altima along the 6500 block of Ross St. in East Mt. Airy.

The crime scenes are approximately three miles apart from one another, and police did not give any indication that the incidents were related on Wednesday morning.
