Saturday is Community Paint Day for Frankford mural

After months of meetings, planning and designing, Saturday is the big day in Frankford.

Volunteers are invited to a community paint day for the neighborhood’s mural, Imagining Frankford, made possible through the city’s Mural Arts Program, Restore Philadelphia Corridors Program and Councilwoman Maria Quinones-Sanchez, D-7th. Participants will help muralist Cesar Viveros paint the wall at the Second Baptist Church of Frankford at 1801 Meadow St.

Snacks will be provided, but the focus of the event is the painting, which takes place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A second paint day will be held Saturday, Aug. 11 at the same time.
