A large crowd attended the historic ordination of a lesbian couple at First & Central Presbyterian Church in Wilmington.

Holly and Kaci Clark-Porter were ordained during the service on Sunday afternoon. Holly will work as an evangelist within the New Castle Presbytery, while Kaci will be an associate pastor at First & Central.

“We have been waiting so long, and I can’t believe we’re doing this together,” said Holly Clark-Porter. “This is a momentous day for us and our families and queer Christians everywhere.”

“The church continues to take steps forward, and this is a big step for the church, and I hope that it will continue to offer support to the queer community, that the church might grow in leaps and bounds and in diversity,” said Kaci.
