S. Philly residents distraught over winter road conditions

You’ve heard it before: Philadelphia is a city of neighborhoods. Philly is also a city of narrow streets, and heavy snow plus below-freezing temperatures often make those narrow streets slick with ice.

In South Philly, where much of the streets are beyond narrow, this has been a problem — and according to a report on CBSPhilly, residents are getting fed up.

Mayor Nutter has admitted that the city isn’t as efficient as it could be in removing snow and ice. City officials say they are working as fast as they can, but it is likely that some South Philly streets won’t see blacktop until the Spring thaw.
