Roxborough shooting leaves man with a wounded shoulder and a stolen beer cooler

A Roxborough man was hospitalized after being shot on Dupont Street early Thursday morning.

Shortly after 1 a.m., officers from the 5th Police District responded to the 600 block of Dupont Street near Henry Ave. Upon arrival, they found the complainant, a 28-year-old man, with a single gunshot wound to his left shoulder, according to police.

The victim told police he was approached by two black males, one of whom pointed a gun at him. Ordered to the ground, the victim turned and was attempting to flee when he was shot. Before fleeing themselves, the suspects took the victim’s blue beer cooler.

The suspects are described as two black males, both in their late teens to early twenties.

The first suspect was said to be 5’11”, with a thin build and light complexion, wearing a dark maroon shirt with grey stripes.

The second suspect was described as being 5’10’, with a thin build and light complexion, wearing a do-rag and dark clothing. He possibly drove a tan or gold Chevy Tahoe or Blazer.

The victim, who officials did not identify, was transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center where he was reported to be in stable condition.
