The incident occurred late Thursday night.

The victim, whose identity is not yet known to investigators, was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center in critical condition, according to NewsWorks content partner NBC10.

He was not carrying identification when police found him along the side of the road.

The victim was reportedly walking in the street when he was struck. While nobody who answered their door Friday afternoon said they knew precisely where it happened, police tape remaining at the scene indicated it was halfway up the block, between the Ivy Ridge Shopping Center and Penn Distributors.

The only indication of security cameras in the area were signs posted outside the Metropolitan Apartments at Manayunk Hill which noted that the property is under “video surveillance.”

The block itself features no speed-limit signs, speeding cars and sporatic sidewalks on which pedestrians can walk.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Accident Investigation Division at (215) 685-3180 or the tipsline at (215) 686-8477. Tips can also be submitted via text to PPD TIP (773847) or the department’s website.
