Return Day security reexamined

After numerous complaints about excessive security at this year’s Return Day, organizers in Georgetown are talking about  ways to improve next time around.

The increased security started in 2008 when newly elected Vice President Joe Biden attended the event.  Security was again heightened earlier this month just in case Biden showed up again, but he did not.  Return Day organizers and Georgetown officials will meet again next week to determine what can be done to improve the situation for Return Day 2012.
