Reported home invasion spurs schools lockdown

Schools in a southern New Jersey community were briefly placed on lockdown following a reported home invasion in a nearby neighborhood.

No injuries were reported in the home invasion, which occurred shortly before 11 a.m. Wednesday in Gloucester Township.

Officers went to the home after a neighbor reported suspicious activity there, and the resident told police he was being held hostage. But those claims remain under investigation.

Two people found inside the home were taken into custody, and authorities were searching for a third person. No weapons or drugs were found in the home, but authorities said the incident was possibly drug-related.
