2016 New Jersey Renaissance Faire is back
Calling all Rennies! The New Jersey Renaissance Faire returns to Bordentown for three weekends, beginning Memorial Day Weekend.
The rain or shine event attempts to recreate the vibe of England’s Middle Ages with costumed cast speaking in a variety of (mostly English) dialects. This year, Elizabeth I of England is expected to join in the fun when a Viking princess refuses to wed the winner of a tournament for her hand in marriage.
Live “edu-tainment” performances abound, such as sword fights, jousting knights, fire performances, archery demos and fortune telling.
Comedy and theater are a big part of the revelry and include an interactive Shakespeare experience and a live-action role playing game show.
There will also be plenty of music from strolling minstrels to live performances of folks songs, Celtic music, pirate-themed sea shanties and tribal warrior drums.
Tickets are $25 for an adult one-day pass ($15 for children ages 5 to 12 years) or $60 for a season pass ($36 for kids). Admission is free for all children under age 5 years.
Parking is also free.
Service dogs are the only pets permitted.
Saturday, May 28, June 4 and June 11; Sunday May 29, June 5 and June 12, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. – 1195 Florence Columbus Rd., Bordentown, NJ.
