Psalm replaces prayer at Sussex County Council meeting

The Sussex County Council has been ordered not to recite the Lord’s Prayer before each meeting.  So now it’s trying a new approach.

For the second time in as many meetings Psalm 23 was said.  It begins with “the Lord is my Sheppard…”  Coastal Point reporter Monica Scott reports this week the meeting began with County Attorney Everett Moore reading a statement regarding the injunction and saying the county was looking for ways to work around the issue.

He went to say he urged everyone at the meeting to refrain from saying the prayer.
